DILI, TIMOR-LESTE — Prospares WebTech was honored to showcase our innovative project, TimorGetaway, at a recent UNDP event during the Dili International Film Festival (DIFF). The event, held on October 11, 2024, at Top Golf, Metiaut, brought together leaders, youth, and creative minds to discuss the crucial themes of Youth, Tourism, and Conservation: Positive Change and Creative Innovation.
Engaging the Community in Sustainable Tourism
As part of our commitment to promoting sustainable tourism in Timor-Leste, Prospares WebTech set up an engaging booth that attracted numerous attendees eager to learn about the TimorGetaway initiative. Alongside two other ABIC winners, we received overwhelming support, reinforcing the sentiment that Timor-Leste is ready to embrace sustainable tourism, highlighting the potential for tourism to drive positive change in our communities while preserving the environment.
A participant remarked, “TimorGetaway is a game-changer for our community. It’s time we harness our natural beauty and culture for sustainable tourism.”

The DIFF event was an excellent opportunity for Prospares WebTech to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations passionate about the intersection of tourism and conservation. By showcasing TimorGetaway, we aimed to inspire collaboration among stakeholders committed to fostering sustainable tourism practices that prioritize environmental preservation and cultural integrity.

With the support of the ASEAN, UNDP Indonesia, The People of Japan and community stakeholders, we are confident that the TimorGetaway platform will pave the way for a more sustainable and inclusive tourism landscape in Timor-Leste.
